Sion is situated in the south-western part of Switzerland and the capital of the French speaking canton of Valais. As of December 2018 it had a population of 34,708 residents.

 

The topography of Sion is very specific – situated in the middle of the Rhone Valley, the town is dotted with hills. Flanked by picturesque snow-capped peaks, the exquisite region of Sion is also hailed as the most sun-kissed area in Switzerland, enticing visitors throughout the year.

Sion International Airport, accommodates private jets and business jets. 

The Sion airport opened in 1935, being the only airport in Switzerland with a mixed license, meaning civilian and military flights can operate alongside each other.

 

In 1991 Sion International Airport upgraded with a new terminal and the ILS, allowing the possibility for chartered flights into Sion Airport.

The modern day Sion Airport terminal offers a restaurant with an open air terrace with panoramic views of the Valais Alps.
